When Amy and Dan Cahill's grandmother, Grace Cahill dies, they have to choose between a million dollars or a single Clue: the key to the source of the family's power. They find out that they are related to many famous people like William Shakespeare and Benjamin Franklin. But it isn't as easy as walking around the neighbourhood and picking up the thirty-nine clues, they have to face their unkind, ruthless relatives. Relatives like Eisenhower Holt, Isabel Kabra, AListair Oh- people who had been there when Amy and Dan's parents were killed.
But the biggest question is- which branch of the family do Amy and Dan belong to? The Lucians, masters of strategy? The Ekaterinas, with amazing intelligence? The Tomas, with strength of Olympic athletes? The Janus, with creativity? Or do they belong to another branch?
